The beautiful Heber Valley is 15 miles south of Park City. The Wall Street Journal last year has cited this area as one of the best resort values. The area is growing rapidly and has many more amenities than some of the other "out of town" areas. As the Heber Valley is Wasatch County, as Park City is in Summit County, the distance between the two insulates the area from some of the more expensive prices of Park City real estate. As still primarily a farming/ranching community, Heber has grown leaps and bounds over the last 10 years as the lower prices of properties draws in those looking to get more than what they could in The Park City area. The Heber Valley offers breathtaking views of the nearly12,000 foot Mt. Timpanogos and has Jordanelle reservoir to the North and Deer Creek reservoir to the south, offering a wide variety of water sports like fishing and boating. To the west of Jordanelle, is the base of the Deer Crest gondola, giving access to the resort without having to drive into Park City. Although rural in appearance, the Heber Valley is a golfers dream with over 100 holes of golf at Wasatch Mountain State Park, Soldier Hollow, The Homestead, and the new private, gated community of Red Ledges to be played. The Heber Valley is currently undergoing a makeover, as many new improvements have been being built, including a new high school, library, senior center, and a new fairground arena for those Friday night rodeos.
